Type of Project: A Farm Shop Refrigeration System Replacement
Overview
We were contacted by the garden centre to arrange a free site visit to see what we would recommend to improve the refrigeration efficiency of their farm shop.
The Bath Garden Centre was running an old multideck refrigeration system for its farm shop. With a slowly rising energy bill, it decided it was best to replace its outdated refrigeration system with a more energy-efficient system.
The customer was very satified with the appearance of the newer and more energy effiecent of the mutlideck fridges, as was many of their cusomers!
Installation Process
We removed an old multideck refrigeration system that was open-fronted and replaced it with new 2x Tefcold multideck fridges that were multiplexed together, along with new pipework, controls and Danfoss condensing units. The new multidecks have doors on them, so they are a lot more energy efficient as they will not be absorbing as much ambient heat, which will mean the system is running less, saving energy costs.
As the cabinets are doored, there will also be better temperature control, which will keep the produce at a better temperature and could increase the shelf life of some products. LED lighting will also enhance the look of the products on display.
We also decommissioned the old system and removed every aspect of it for safe disposal.
