In 1946, The Foster Refrigerator Corporation was launched in New York by Larry H. Foster. It wasn’t until some twenty years later in 1968 that the company opened its first factory in the UK, Plant 1 at King’s Lynn. The UK division of the company still operates out of King’s Lynn to the present day.
A key moment came in 1994 when Foster was granted a royal warrant, giving them the status of appointed suppliers of commercial refrigeration to the Her Majesty the Queen. A Royal Warrant of appointment is a mark of recognition for companies that have supplied goods or services to the royal households for at least five years and have shown a continuous commitment to the highest standards of service, quality and excellence.
In addition to their core refrigeration business; Foster also own Gamko, who are well respected providers of bottle coolers, waste disposal coolers and modular bar systems in the hospitality industry since 1958.

Over the last ten years, Foster has placed a strong emphasis on the environmental aspect of their operations. They were the first manufacturer in the commercial refrigeration industry to obtain ISO14001 certification and since then have produced several environmentally friendly and economical ranges including the Gastro Eco Pro Cabinet & Counter ranges and, more recently, the revolutionary EcoPro G2 Cabinet range.
